  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/3 cup hot pepper jelly
  • Fresh thyme leaves or chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  2. Add the flour, salt, and optional garlic powder. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Wrap the dough tightly and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Roll chilled dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Press your thumb gently into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
  7. Fill each thumbprint with about 1/2 teaspoon of hot pepper jelly.
  8. Bake for 13–15 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
