  • 1 tsp white granulated sugar
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 6 tbsp brown butter
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm water and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until foamy.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover and refrigerate the dough overnight to enhance flavor.
  4. Grease a baking pan and place the risen dough inside; let it rise again for about 1½ – 2 hours.
  5. Prepare brown butter and stir in sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Dimple the risen dough and drizzle with the cinnamon mixture before baking at 450°F for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Cool slightly before drizzling with icing made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
