  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted, divided)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour
  • For Cinnamon Honey Butter: ¼ cup softened unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm water and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until frothy (5-10 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together warm milk, melted butter, remaining sugar, salt, and egg. Stir in the frothy yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add bread flour while mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
  5. Punch down the dough gently, divide into equal pieces, shape into balls, and place on a greased baking sheet close together.
  6. Cover again and let rise for another hour while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. For cinnamon honey butter, mix softened butter with confectioners' sugar, honey, and cinnamon until smooth.
  8. Brush baked rolls with melted butter before serving with cinnamon honey butter.
